Shenzhen International Trade Center

The International Foreign Trade Center, also known as the "Guomao Building," is located in the bustling commercial and financial center of Luohu District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, northeast of the intersection of Renmin South Road and Jiabin Road. It is the earliest comprehensive super high-rise building built in China, the first super high-rise building in China, and the first iconic building in Shenzhen, known as the "first building in China".

The Shenzhen International Trade Center Building was first built in May 1982 and put into use at the end of 1985. It covers an area of 20000 square meters with a total construction area of 100000 square meters. The main building has 53 floors (3 underground floors and 50 ground floors), with a height of 160 meters. It integrates offices, commerce, finance, catering, and sightseeing. The top floor has China's first revolving restaurant. The Guomao Tower connects the surrounding Guomao Commercial Building, Guomao Commercial Building, and Tian'an International Building, with a total area of 32000 square meters and a total construction area of 270000 square meters, forming the earliest and largest urban complex in China. After its completion, Guomao Tower was the tallest building in China at that time, setting a record for Shenzhen's speed of "one floor per three days" and representing Shenzhen's speed.  

In 1987, Shenzhen International Trade Building won the first Luban Golden Statue Award. In 1988, Shenzhen International Trade Building won the National Silver Award. In 1992, Deng Xiaoping climbed onto the revolving restaurant of Shenzhen International Trade Building and delivered the most important chapter of the Southern Talks. In June 2006, Shenzhen International Trade Building was awarded the title of "Top Ten Historical Buildings of Shenzhen's Reform and Opening Up".
